California State University, Long Beach accepts the principles governing the use of live animals expressed in the regulations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Public Health Service, Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), as well as all California regulations and statutes governing these matters. All covered live animals kept on campus for research and instructional observation are subject to the review and approval of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
Any deficiencies in animal care and treatment at MD´«Ã½Èë¿Ú can be reported (anonymously, if desired) to any of the following individuals:

Registration: IACUC members and institutional personnel involved in animal care and use programs (veterinarians, compliance, PAM, trainers, investigators, administrators) may register to participate in by clicking on the links below the Program.
The animal care and use community is encouraged to submit questions, challenges, solutions, and ideas to olaw@mail.nih.gov to influence the topics addressed. If warranted by community interest, repeat of the initial topics and/or presentation of additional topics will be offered.
The ICARE Project is an interagency initiative of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Science Foundation (NSF), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).
Training Modules: Training modules developed by the participants of the Train the Trainer Institutes are tools that you can use to implement active learning training for IACUCs at your institution.
