FALL 2026 ADVISING for ENGLISH MAJORS

 

The English Department Undergraduate Advisorscan help with concerns regarding your English major or minor emphasis, including the Single Subject Credential Program; general education requirements; transfer credit; study abroad courses; and progress towards graduation. 

Please check which area within the English major each professor is advising for, and please check your Academic Requirements Report (on your Student Center) before seeing an advisor. When you contact an advisor by e-mail, please include your student ID number.

Regular advising begins Monday, August 24, 2026 (first day of classes) and ends Friday, December 11, 2026 (last day of classes). Official advising hours end with the last day of classes, so if you need help after that you need to e-mail the appropriate advisor(s).

These are advising hours for the Summer 2026 semester. 

Regular advising hours are not held during the summer, though two advisors are available to assist students throughout the summer.
 
From May 18 through August 14, Prof. Rene Treviño and Prof. Stephanie Johnson are available to respond through email to incoming transfer students and to continuing MD´«Ã½Èë¿Ú students. Please note that responses may be slower than usual due to summer schedules.

During the summer, the CLA Advising Center (ATLAS) is available to support students when Department Advisors are unavailable. Please review  hours and instructions to connect with an advisor.
 
Regular advising hours resume with the start of the Fall 2026 semester on August 17, 2026.

For winter 2026, the English Department is offering undergraduate advising for incoming transfer students only (students beginning enrollment in spring 2026).

Winter 2026 advising begins Friday, December 26th, 2025, and ends Friday, January 18th, 2026.
