$25,000 Gift Helps Create a Culture of Wellness Across The Campus Community
The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) announced the Go Beach Well Pilot Program, a new, pilot employee wellness program powered by the LifeFit Center and sponsored by . The 3-month pilot program includes virtual wellness coaching and workshops for about 230 eligible Division of Student Affairs (DSA) employees who drive student success on campus.
鈥淲e are focused on creating a culture of wellness across the MD传媒入口 campus, which is now more important than ever with the spread of COVID-19. We have been able to adapt the Go Beach Well program and are providing virtual wellness services to support the health and wellness of our employees and set a positive example for students,鈥 Ayla Donlin, LifeFit Director, says.
The program also provides an experiential learning opportunity for 22 student assistant staff and interns. Student-workers help conduct wellness coaching, weekly check-ins, and monthly workshops on relevant topics including wellness goal setting, optimizing posture at work, and building a workout routine.
鈥淏eing involved in the Go Beach Well Program has provided me with the opportunity to apply what I have learned in my undergraduate career and share my values (health and fitness) with employees who play crucial roles in our MD传媒入口 community,鈥 Alyssa Rivera-Aguilera, Go Beach Well Student Lead, says.
Physical health is only one of the aspects the program addresses. Wellness coaching will provide support on everything from nutrition and exercise to sleep issues and stress management.
