AMA Long Beach Chapter Earns Prestigious Honors at ICC 2026

The American Marketing Association (AMA) at California State University, Long Beach proudly earned national recognition at the 2026 AMA International Collegiate Conference (ICC), held March 12–14 in Chicago, Illinois. A delegation of 23 students, accompanied by Department Chair and Faculty Advisor Dr. Yu Wang, represented the university on one of the largest stages for collegiate marketing students.

Among 344 chapters nationwide, AMA Long Beach was distinguished as a Top 20 Chapter, underscoring its continued excellence and impact. The chapter also delivered an outstanding competitive performance, highlighted by a 2nd Place finish in the Marketplace Simulation, where team members Jason Zhang, Helen Chau, Hope Sabater, Pablo Nunez, and Christina Varela competed against 70 universities.

Individual achievements further elevated the chapter’s success. Isaac Oh earned 2nd Place in the Sales Competition, while Ashlynn Chavez secured 3rd Place in the Perfect Pitch Competition. Christina Varela received an Honorable Mention, and Michael Martinez and Bridgeth Quijivix were recognized as finalists, placing in the top 20% of competitors.

Beyond competition, students engaged in professional development workshops, networking sessions, and a national career fair, gaining valuable industry insights and building meaningful connections. The group also embraced the Chicago experience, celebrating their achievements over deep-dish pizza while taking in the city’s St. Patrick’s Day traditions of dyeing the Chicago River green.
