The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is a living museum, a place of learning, art, and culture. Each season unfolds with colorful blossoms, beautiful scenery, and an iconic landscape. Plan your event in this pristine outdoor space, welcoming all who enter its gates with beauty and serenity. This 1.3-acre Garden is the perfect location for your next event. The garden’s natural beauty inspires dreams of love and provides the ideal backdrop for your wedding ceremony.
For the last 40 years, the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden has hosted milestone events for the Long Beach community. Life is full of milestones. Let's celebrate together!

A nonrefundable Garden fee is required at the time of booking.
Event Considerations
Capacity
- Meal in Tent 100 people
- Meal in Garden 75 people
- Chairs only 150 people
The Garden is equipped to host seated dinners of up to 100 people, but more can be accommodated with additional rentals required.
Restrictions
- All clients are required to use our captured catering.
- No hard alcohol is allowed at the Garden at any time. The consumption of alcohol (beer, wine, sake, and champagne) is limited to four (4) hours during the event.
- Parties for over 100 people require the rental of additional restroom options for guests.
- Parties must end at or before 10 p.m.
- Children ages 10 and under must have adult supervision at all times.
- No rice, tinsel, glitter, confetti, fake flowers, fake snow, bubbles, inflatables, open flames.
- Other restrictions apply and will be outlined in detail at the time of booking.

PRIVATE EVENT RENTALS
3hr permit - $4,000 (1 hr event + 1 hr setup + 1 hr cleanup)
4hr permit - $5,000 (2 hr event + 1 hr setup + 1 hr cleanup)
5hr permit - $6,000 (3 hr event + 1 hr setup + 1 hr cleanup)
6hr permit - $7,000 (4 hr event + 1 hr setup + 1 hr cleanup) no weekday rate
9hr permit - $10,000 (7 hr event + 1 hr setup + 1 hr cleanup) no weekday rate
Additional Hours: $1,000/hr
PRIVATE EVENT Weekdays up to 5hrs only
5hr permit - $3,500 (3 hr event + 1 hr setup + 1 hr cleanup)
4hr permit - $3,000 (2 hr event + 1 hr setup + 1 hr cleanup)
3hr permit - $2,500 (1 hr event + 1 hr setup + 1 hr cleanup)
CEREMONY ONLY PRICING
Ceremony/Lecture: No reception. No food or drink. Weekday vs Weekend: No pricing difference
$3,000 (3-hour rental, 1 hour ceremony, includes setup & teardown)
$4,000 (4-hour rental, 2 hour ceremony, includes setup & teardown)
